First Homes at Lakeside Near Completion

Published on February 20, 2026

When you walk the new Lakeside vacation homes at Caldera Springs, start at the back. Step through the glass doors. Stand on the patio. Listen for a second.

Lava Springs Lake is right there.

On March 21, the first homes at Lakeside at Caldera Springs will be available to tour. These are the first newly-built residences positioned directly on Lava Springs Lake within Caldera Springs — the 1,000-acre private residential resort community in Central Oregon, located just minutes from Sunriver Resort and 15 miles from Bend.

Caldera Springs has always been about water and trees. Ponderosa pines rise from volcanic ground. Lakes, ponds, creeks, and brooks move quietly through the community. Trails connect homes to amenities like Forest House and beyond. It’s the kind of place where you leave the car parked longer than you planned.

Lakeside is the newest residential release within Caldera Springs. For those familiar with Caldera Springs and Sunriver, you know how rare it is to find a home directly on the water, within an amenity-rich community.

The first Lakeside vacation homes are built by Curtis Homes, a Central Oregon builder known for quality design, craftsmanship, and floor plans suited for vacation living. These homes balance modern mountain architecture with interiors designed to frame both the water and the pines.

Inside, the main living spaces overlook the lake. Morning light moves straight through the glass. In the evening, the water reflects back into the room. The layout is straightforward and intentional — open gathering areas, generous windows, and spaces that flow easily from indoors to out. Upstairs, the bunk room connects to a second common space built for the kind of weekends that stretch longer than expected.

Then there’s the studio.

It has its own entrance and bath, giving the studio a sense of privacy for you and your guests. It can also be rented independently while you’re still in residence. Both the main home and studio participate in the Caldera Springs vacation rental program, with on-site management handling the details. It’s flexibility built into the architecture, not added later.

Step outside again. First a spacious covered patio. A fire pit and gathering spaces extend evenings in cool mountain air. Hot tubs face the trees and water. The shoreline of Lava Springs Lake is steps away.

Lakeside homeowners are also moments from Forest House, Caldera Springs’ newest amenity center. Pools. Fitness facilities. Dining. Pickleball courts. Duckpin bowling. Gathering spaces designed for year-round connection. Everything active and social is integrated into the neighborhood — no drive required.

This is lakefront living within a fully-activated private community — something increasingly rare in the Pacific Northwest resort market. The initial sales launch for Lakeside vacation homes generated strong early interest, reflecting continued demand for thoughtfully-designed second homes in a private, amenity-rich setting.

Construction of the first Lakeside vacation homes at Caldera Springs is nearing completion. The March 21 preview offers the first opportunity to tour the newly completed home, stand at the edge of Lava Springs Lake, and see how lakefront living in Central Oregon feels in real time.
