Cozy by Nature: Fireside Moments at Caldera Springs

Published on December 23, 2025

Winter settles easily into Caldera Springs. Trails grow quieter, fireplaces glow across the community, and familiar gathering places feel even more welcoming. Whether you’re lingering over fireside cocktails at Lake House, roasting marshmallows at Forest House, or gathering for a game night at home, the season naturally slows the rhythm of life. These are the moments that define winter here: simple, effortless, and grounded in nature.

Fireside Dining at Lake House

Lake House is built for winter evenings. Linger in the dining room with views of Mt. Bachelor, settle into the fireplace-warmed bar for a drink, or step onto the patio for s’mores under the evening sky. The new winter menu leans into local, seasonal flavors—from warm skillet brie with spiced pear marmalade to butternut squash bisque, winter beet salad, and hearty entrées like winter pappardelle or the bone-in pork chop with cider-roasted carrots.

Festive cocktails add to the atmosphere, including Mt. Bachelor Cocoa topped with whipped cream and marshmallows and the Harvest Toddy made with hot apple cider and cinnamon. It’s the kind of place where dinner stretches into a longer evening.

S’mores at Forest House

Forest House puts a cozy spin on winter evenings with its Sip N’ S’mores nights on December 26 and January 2. Gather around the fire pit to enjoy savory s’mores with a variety of cheese roasted over the fire, paired with crackers, candied bacon, fig jam, and other bites—plus a glass of wine for the adults. Kids get their own sweet spread, keeping the tradition fun for everyone. It’s a relaxed, lively way to wind down the day and ease into the winter weekend.

Hot Cocoa at Piney’s

Piney’s is open now through January 4, creating an easy stop for warm drinks and snacks throughout the day. Duck in for a mug of hot cocoa—and our frozen cocoa special over the holidays—sip it inside the Family Room, or carry it out to the deck to take in the crisp winter air. It’s a small moment, but it fits perfectly into the slower rhythm of the season.

Evenings by the Fireplace at Home

Once you’re home, the fireplace sets the tone for the night. Spread out with games, put on a movie, and watch the whole room settle into a comfortable glow. Snow outside makes the indoors feel even more inviting, and the slow shift into evening becomes part of the rhythm of winter at Caldera Springs.

These fireside rituals—shared meals, easy gatherings, warm drinks, quiet evenings—shape the season in a way that feels calm, inviting, and unmistakably Caldera Springs.
