Activities for Everyone at Caldera Springs

Published on August 7, 2026

What makes Caldera Springs so unique is the way that everyone experiences it differently. A day at Caldera Springs can begin with a paddle across Obsidian Lake, continue with nine holes at Caldera Links, or simply be spent relaxing on the Tranquility Deck. As a private residential resort community adjacent to Sunriver Resort in Central Oregon, Caldera Springs brings recreation, wellness, dining, and time outdoors into one exceptional setting. Choose the path that sounds most like you, and see how each day can take its own direction.

Consider this your choose-your-own-adventure guide to Caldera Springs:

The Naturalist

Your day starts at The Outpost, where kayaks, canoes and paddleboards are available to rent by the hour. With 14.7 acres of lakes and miles of streams, there is plenty of shoreline to explore before the community wakes up. Obsidian and Trailmere lakes are tranquil and still in the early hours, when owners can head out with their own boats and lake gear before 9 a.m. Rainbow Trout rise in the lakes in the evenings, inviting anglers to cast a fly as the day winds down. Thirteen miles of paved paths and soft trails wind through Ponderosa pine forest, across meadows and along streams. Preservation Park features birdhouses, native grasses and natural water features for peaceful afternoons. Keep your eyes up while you explore—deer, osprey and the occasional bald eagle call this corner of Central Oregon home, too.

The Athlete

Your morning begins at the Forest House Fitness Center, where Technogym strength and cardio equipment and Peloton bikes overlook the pool. Then, move outside and pick your sport. Forest Park offers six pickleball courts, The Quarry has tennis courts with mountain views, and Caldera Links, the Bob Cupp-designed nine-hole par 3 course, is reserved for Caldera Springs owners and guests, as well as Sunriver Resort guests. Cruiser bikes from The Outpost make it possible to cover miles of paved paths throughout the community. Mt. Bachelor sits approximately 20 minutes away with skiing all winter and lift-served mountain biking all summer.

The Relaxer

Your ideal day requires almost no planning. Pick up a frozen cocktail from Piney’s Cafe & Bar and claim a daybed on the Tranquility Deck at Forest House, or relax and float the lazy river. The Quarry’s infinity-edge pool overlooks Obsidian Lake, and its year-round outdoor spas offer a warm place to recharge in every season. The Spa at Sunriver Resort invites Caldera Springs owners and guests to unwind with facials, massages and restorative treatments available for an additional fee. Some days require nothing more than a chair beside the Lake House fire pit with a book and a glass of wine.

The Foodie

Your day starts at Shore Shack with coffee and to-go breakfast bites, and the lakeside fire pit gives you a reason to return for lunch and dinner. Lake House anchors the community’s dining scene with seasonal and regional Pacific Northwest-inspired plates paired with Mt. Bachelor and Obsidian Lake views. Piney’s keeps poolside snacks and drinks within reach between swims at Forest House. Sunriver Resort expands your options with 11+ restaurants and cafes just minutes from your door, and Bend’s breweries, bakeries and coffee culture sit a 15-minute drive north.

There’s Something For Everyone at Caldera Springs

Most owners may see themselves in more than one category. The naturalist may also be the golfer. The athlete may claim the longest poolside break. The relaxer may paddle across the lake before lunch, and the foodie may plan an entire afternoon around a trail ride followed by dinner.

Caldera Springs gives owners the flexibility and option to move between outdoor recreation, social spaces, wellness, and dining without assigning the day a single agenda. Sunriver Resort, Bend, and Mt. Bachelor add even more possibilities close by.

Lakeside Vacation Homes and Wild Pine Homesites are available now, with Ember Rock Lake Homesites coming soon. All offerings include full access to the community’s core amenities. Join the Ember Rock Lake interest list for release details and availability.
